We encourage you to visit and build a relationship with your local nursery. Nurseries have expert knowledge of the range of flora available and suitable for your area. Invite them to visit your school for advice and, in return, you could thank them in your newsletter and encourage families to support their business. Nurseries may also have old stock that could be donated to your school.
For small-scale garden problems and gardening questions, the Yates website has a Live Chat portal that can answer you immediately. The Yates team is available from 8am–7pm weekdays and 10am–4pm on weekends so you can talk to them during the school day or after hours.
The VSGP is now offering a new Garden Support service to Victorian schools which need extra help. This service aims to connect schools with a local horticulture expert or an industry member with the expertise required for a particular problem.
Complete the form below with your school’s contact details and a description of your project problem. The VSGP will attempt to match you with a VSGP Advisory Support member, who will contact you directly.
